Located in Western Bulgaria, near Mount Vitosha, Sofia is the center for administrative, cultural, economic and education.
Bulgaria produces a significant amount of raw materials such as iron, copper, gold, bismuth, coal, electronics, refined petroleum, fuels, vehicle components, weapons and construction materials. It is also one of the top world producers of raspberries, tobacco, chili peppers and sunflower seed.
The office market in Sofia has remained the most developed, with vacancy rates averaging at 13.5%
The Business Park Sofia is the first business park of its kind in Sofia and has successfully attracted international companies due to modern building standards and amenities.
New business parks are slated to be completed in 2010 including the Benchmark Business Center, European Trade Center, Mega Park and Polygraphia Centre for a total of 155,000 square meters.
The majority of new development is occurring along Tsarigradsko Shosse, and arterial route into Sofia that provides easy access to the airport, major residential hubs as well as the city center and built on higher standard than with previous developments.
